September 29, 2026
Calgary-based pop rock band Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds will close out a productive 2026 with the release of their new single, That is What She Said. Combining the band’s classic-rock foundation with polished modern-pop production, the track arrives as the group prepares for their biggest hometown performance to date, opening for Gene Simmons in Calgary.
Led by vocalist and guitarist Jackson Reed, The Silverbirds also feature Jeremy Brigham on keyboards, Nathan Litvinchuk on drums, and Deandre Crowe on bass.
The new single follows the band’s 2026 EP, Live in ’25, which was recorded during their opening performance for Nazareth in Edmonton. The live release helped introduce Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds to a growing audience through streaming platforms, TikTok, and radio airplay across Canada and the United States.
Reed also continued to expand the audience for his music-interview podcast Guess That Record during 2026. Among the year’s notable guests were Steve Hackett, Midge Ure, and Alexa Ray Joel.
Written and recorded during the summer, That is What She Said was co-written by Reed, Litvinchuk, and Reed’s longtime collaborator Kenton Edward Dobrowolski.
“With how frantic the first half of the year was with Live in ’25, I felt as though I needed some help putting together our next release,” Reed says. “Nathan and Kenton’s support made this an easy track for us to write, and the recording really demonstrates how tight The Silverbirds have become as a band.”
Musically, That is What She Said represents another step in the group’s development. Although the song draws unmistakable inspiration from the sounds and production styles of the 1980s, its melodic approach, and polished energy place it firmly in the present.
Reed’s production emphasizes the individual musicianship within the band. Live drums, an energetic guitar solo, and a reverb-rich, sing-along chorus give the track the character of a full-band rock performance while retaining the immediacy and accessibility of a contemporary pop single.
The release also coincides with a significant moment in the band’s live career. Shortly after the single arrives, Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds will open for Gene Simmons in Calgary.
“It is a great time for us to release a new song that we’re genuinely proud of while preparing for our biggest hometown show to date,” Reed says. “The single captures where the band is right now, both creatively and as a live unit.”
